  1. It is my first time listening to this podcast and I really enjoyed it. I had to comment in regards to one of the hosts who was opposed to the wire cutter article. The other two hosts sounded like they have more of an understanding of boardgames and their complexity and in turn how we should be going about spreading the game word. Regardless of how well known or mainstream a boardgames is, if it is fun to play, then don’t take that away from it. I love all boardgames and will play boardgames with just about anyone, regardless of their knowledge of games. An understanding of ‘gateway games’ is invaluable. I had to go and read the article after listening to this podcast and actually thought it was a fantastic read for the intended audience. I’m not quite sure why the female host was a bit upset by it. I’m sure she knows that she can look up BGG or Reddit to find out more about boardgames that she likes, based on her prior gaming history. The wire cutter article did not seem to be targeting the boardgamer, the audience, by the looks of the other articles is quite obviously a broad range of people. Other than that she did have some other interesting things to say though. Just my two cents. I’m looking forward to listening to more episodes. Thanks for the hard work.

    1. Thanks for the feedback. This was probably one of our more “controversial” episodes and of course I (this is Chris) agree with you about Kitty’s take on the article ;). In her defense, she was speaking for the gamer audience, so had this been an article on bgg or reddit I think her points would be spot on. But indeed it was meant for the non-gamer and that’s why I really think it did a good job.
