TGT On Topic 205: Top 26-100

This week we look at the rest of the top 100.  And do exactly the opposite of what Kitty says we’re going to do at the beginning of the episode.  That is to say, we look at every one of them…  Well almost, some we had no idea about.

TGT On Topic 204: Curating Your Game Collection

This week for the first time ever there’s no Chris, he’s busy with a brand new baby! Kitty and Fletcher do their best to struggle on without him and discuss curating their game collections, what to add and what to let go of.  Go to http://TabletopGameTalk.com/live to learn how to be part of our live audience.

TGT On Topic 203: All Day Games

This week Kitty is off somewhere with no internet, so Fletcher and Chris talk about games that take all day to play.  Or this may be better titled, War of the Rings and Twilight Imperium 4th Edition.  But they do get around to talking about why all day games are great and why you should give them a chance. TGT On Topic 202: Top Rated Games 11-25

This week we continue down the board game geek top rated list and talk about the next 15 games. We then look back over the top 25 and pick the games we want to play most of the ones we have not yet played. Well all except for Chris because he played them all (almost).

TGT On Topic 201: Top Rated Games 1-10

We’re back!  And this week we’re going to talk about the top 10 rated games on boardgamegeek.com.  What are they?  Who’s played them?  Should you play them?  This is part 1 of (likely 3) episodes where we’ll look at the top rated games and talk about why they are there and are they right for everyone.  (No, they are not, but it’s still interesting to talk about why they may or may not be right for you…)

TGT Replay 074: NOT Buying Games

This is the sixth in our series of summer replay episodes and we’re half way through.  And this week it’s about Chris, well Chris and his game buying habits.  He made some promises (commitments?) in this episode, and at the end we find out if he kept them…

…we find out in the last 15 minutes with present day us (including Josh again) looking back at this episode.  But, if you don’t want to re-listen to this entire episode you can skip right to the conclusion, by going to timestamp 1:01:10.

(Where’s all the other stuff that goes here?  Well, our live shows will resume in a few weeks (we’ll give you plenty of warning) and we’ll also start taking listener read credits at that time as well.)

TGT Replay 073: Analysis Paralysis

This is the fifth in our series of summer replay episodes and we’re half way through.  This is our famed (ok, maybe just famed by us) AP episode where we answer all the questions about why some people have AP and how we can find common ground with them.  Or if you are an AP player, how you can find common ground with those players that just don’t seem to care as much about the game as you do…

As always, we have another 15 more minutes of present day us (including Josh again) looking back at this episode. We probably should have but some kind of musical queue between the end of the first post credits and the start of the new stuff, but… yeah, we didn’t.  In any case, if you don’t want to re-listen to this episode and skip right to the new stuff, then listen to the first minute or so and then skip to 1:05:24.

(Where’s all the other stuff that goes here?  Well, our live shows will resume in a few weeks (we’ll give you plenty of warning) and we’ll also start taking listener read credits at that time as well.)

TGT On Topic 200: Top 10 Games We Want To Play For All Time (TTiGWWiTPaFAT)

This week we ask ourselves, “If we could only play 10 games for the rest of time, what would they be?” – And then we answered it in this episode.  And the lists might surprise you.  We had very little overlap which means you get nearly 30 games worth of ideas in case you ever find yourself stranded on Mars with the perfect gaming group and have the foresight to order a bunch of board games before that happens.

TGT On Topic 199: Gaming Milestones

This week we look back at the gaming milestones in the last 120 years.  Well at least Chris’s take on those milestones.  We also talk about raw fish.  Chris does one of the worse outros ever, while Adrian Paterson does one of the best reading of the credits ever and doesn’t even get credit for it in the episode.  We’ll fix that in episode 200 – which is being recored live in 2 days (Thursday, June 18th, 2020).  You can join us live by reading the next paragraph…

TGT On Topic 198: Gaming For Spectators

This week we talk about watching other people play tabletop games.  What are the various ways they are presented?  What do we like best?  Should Chris finally play a game on YouTube for all to see?  Watch (listen) to this and more in the next episode (this one) of Tabletop Game Talk.  [You may skip this add in 5 seconds.]

TGT On Topic 197: Painting Board Game Minis

This week we talk about painting miniatures.  Mostly about board game miniatures, but D&D and Warhammer do make their way into the conversation.  No, no, we’re not trying to teach you how to paint over a podcast.  But we will talk about the advantages of painting your miniatures as well as the draw backs.

To see the minis Chris is referencing in this episode, you can go to his titter page: https://twitter.com/gamemasterchris
