Our main weekly show.

TGT 072: 2017 Favorites

This week we’re looking back at the year at some of our favorite new games.  But first Chris talks about EverCon and CapriCon, two conventions we’ll be at in the near future.  He also has two new Kickstarters he’s backed and then we get into some feedback on past episodes.

TGT 071: Dice Games

This week we start off talking about a couple upcoming conventions we’ll be at.  Chris backs the 2nd least expensive game yet  on Kickstarter (Postcard Dungeon) and we then read some feedback from past episodes (including a gummy candy commercial!).

Then we start talking about dice games (thanks Christy for the outline) and realize quickly that this topic is too big for just one episode.  We do what we can in the time we have and then plan several more episodes in the near future on more specific topics.

TGT 070: Semi Co-Op Games

This week we start out by announcing the winner to our current giveaway, talk a bit about our next giveaway, Chris backs a Tank game on Kickstarter, we get some nice feedback, a quick question, and then on to the topic…

Semi Co-Op games!  We try and define them, grasp for some examples, and even talk a bit theoretically about what works and doesn’t work within this niche category.

TGT 069: Games Based on Existing IPs

This week we start with our thoughts on the new Patreon changes, a recap of Dice Tower Cruise, our current contest to give away Pandemic Legacy Season 2, and a D&D 5e Kickstarter Chris has backed.

We then get into some feedback and a message from Kitty on feedback that’s too nice.

Finally we go on topic and talk about some of our favorite games based on existing media IP (intellectual property) which mostly centers around Star Wars, Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, Battlestar Galactica and Game of Thrones.

TGT 068: Twenty Dollar Games

We start out with a couple new Kickstarters, Dawn of Peacemakers and Monster Slaughter.  We get some feedback from Dave, Michael, and Myles, and then answer a quick question from Joe.

Then we go on topic and talk about a bunch of cheaper games that are good for gifts this season.  Including Fantasy Realms, Tides of Time, Bang the Dice Game, Herbaceous, Hero Realms, Not Alone, Oden’s Ravens, Ultimate Werewolf, Murder Mystery Party, Shahrazad, and more…

TGT 067: Calling an Audible

This week we start with drawing the first winner for Pandemic Legacy Season 2.

Chris then talks about a couple Kickstaters:
Core Space: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1621774283/core-space
Root: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2074786394/root-a-game-of-woodland-might-and-right

We have some feedback and a couple quick questions then get on-topic.

This week’s topic is a little loose, but we do come to an interesting conclusion by the end.

TGT 066: Getting Non-Gamers to Game

This week there are no new Kickstarters to speak of (again) but Chris does talk about a non-game Kickstater he recently received (the click-and-grow, it’s cool).

We got a lot of feedback this week and answer a quick question.

We then talk about “non-gamers” and ways we can turn them into full fledge gamers.

TGT 065: A Deck of Cards

Josh is back and we find out what he was up to for the last two weeks.  Chris speaks British (sort of) and we announce the winner(s) of our current contest.

Then Chris covers a couple Kickstarters he backed recently and we answer a quick question from Jeremy on expansions.

Then we go on topic and talk a lot about normal playing cards.  We talk about where they came from and what can we do with them.

TGT 064: GameHole Con ’17 Recap

This weekend we spent teaching and playing games at GameHole Con in Madison, WI.  We had a great time and talk about the games that were played and the things we did at the convention.

TGT 063: Making Time to Game

This week we’ll be at GameHole Con and we talk a bit about that.  No Kickstarters (although Chris promises to fix this next week), and a couple quick questions from Sam.

Then we get on topic and talk about ways to make sure you can get some gaming in from time to time.  We even number the ways, although we may not have counted with any modern counting system in existence.  Oh, as a side effect we created a new counting system!

TGT 062: Significant Others of Gamers

This is Chris’s wedding week, so we did something a little different in this episode.  We still start with some announcements, Kickstarters and feedback.  But once we get on topic, well, you’ll just have to listen…
